20: Kate White on Demystifying the Practitioner Experience of Working with Babies

This presentation will be given in June 2019 at the Human Baby, Human Being conference in England. This preview covers resources, fundamentals in practice, case studies, and basically, the foundational discussion that so many other have also contributed to that informs the PPNE certificate.

Kate White, MA, BCBMT, RCST®, CEIM, SEP, Founder and Director of PPNE, is a massage and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist who specializes in working with mothers and babies. She was certified in 1995 in massage and immediately began working with pregnant mothers and babies. Soon after her certification in craniosacral therapy in 1999, clients' memories of their births sent her on a mission to understand pre- and perinatal experiences.

She has studied with many of the early pioneers, including Ray Castellino, William Emerson, Karlton Terry, Myrna Martin, and John Chitty. She has taken courses in infant mental health and studied with osteopaths, including Franklyn Sills. Previous to her work as a therapist and agent of cultural change for birth, she worked in international health, helping improve infant and maternal outcomes in Africa. She has run health centers, worked with midwives, and taught many of her own courses. She is Director of Education for APPPAH and administers the Conscious Baby Program for Parents, as well running her own trainings in Prenatal and Perinatal Dynamics and Baby Dynamics . She is passionate about supporting mothers and the mother-baby bond, and wholeheartedly committed to nervous system regulation for the whole family.
