About Early Adverse Experiences

Great strides have been made to understand the roots of adult disease by studying Adverse Childhood Experiences. We now know that 10 common adverse experiences that happen when we are children can translate into cardiovascular diseases, auto-immune disorders, obesity, addiction, metabolic disorders and more. This presentation goes over how our nervous system gets overwhelmed, and what we can do about. It describes the Adverse Childhood Experiences study, and further, presents the new Adverse Early Experiences and Resilience Score. We have listed 12 experiences babies have that we think are truly adverse, and a list of elements that help us find and create resilience. Marti Glenn tells stories from her many years as a pioneer in the field of prenatal and perinatal psychology, and Kate White describes the science that supports how these experiences can impact our nervous system and our health. Not to be missed!
