Cultural Impacts of Prenatal Awareness Overview

Module 6: The prenate is influenced by his or her surroundings, primarily the mother and her thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Society and culture also have a profound impact on the developing prenate. This module will introduce research that supports prenatal awareness and how this phenomena can impact human perspectives, beliefs, and participation in society. It will also further emphasize prenatal communication and sentience.

Students: This module examines several aspects of culture, society and the prenatal period. We know that the mother is the first environment for babies, so our resources in this module examine maternal stress and trauma, and its impact on the prenate. We also include other cultural and social aspects, including gender, economics, disparities, and more. Lisa Reagan gives us a large container to understand where our paradigm fits, in a New Story, and how educators are cultural creatives. We also include PPN pioneers' examinations of culture, childrearing and parenting. At the end of the module, we provide the Discussion and Resource Guide for the movie, In Utero.
