About the Course

Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology for Midwives is a three-month online learning program that brings a vital, often overlooked dimension to modern midwifery—understanding the psychological, emotional, and relational foundations of human life. Grounded in ethical caregiving, nervous system awareness, and deep listening, this program invites midwives to explore the full continuum of the childbearing experience—from preconception through the postpartum period—through the lens of birth psychology.

Participants will examine how early experiences shape development, bonding, and resilience, while exploring the evolving paradigm of birthwork in today’s complex world. Through a blend of scientific insight and reflective practice, the program illuminates the physiological and emotional dimensions of caregiving, the imprint of early life experiences, and the profound role of the midwife in fostering safety, connection, and coherence in the birth environment.

This program goes beyond conventional midwifery education by integrating the latest research in prenatal and perinatal psychology with somatic and trauma-informed perspectives. Midwives will be guided to explore sustainable and supportive models of care—approaches that honor the well-being of both families and practitioners. By deepening awareness of consciousness, communication, and relational presence, participants will leave with a renewed understanding of what it truly means to hold space for birth and to nurture life at its very beginnings.
